I think we need to create a new word that starts with an A for stitching,

I can't even find one in another language, so go for it.

Housework also comes before sewing...in the dictionary that is. Not here though,no housework today, just sewed. I like her way of thinking. A friend from church came one day this week to sew with me. I had a 6 foot table (for cutting) in my hallway. She glanced into the spare bedroom and saw I had 3 stacks of fabric on the dresser. She told my husband, "She's just taking over the house with her sewing". Of course I had to scold her, with a elbow in her side and a "SH-h-h-h", be quiet. I told her I didn't see why we couldn't just get rid of the bedroom set and take the wall out between that room and my sewing room. It would make me a nice size sewing/Quilting room....Then I could get one of those Grace quilting frames, a long arm machine, put it in my expanded room and use up my stash!-lol

One could say the same for housework and machine embroidery, too. I'm with you!

Love this saying.

In Dutch we get it right even in a dictionary: needlework (borduren or handwerken) comes before housework (opruimen or schoonmaken). And my house shows that it is not just a nice, theory LOL.
