I want to say Sorry for not being around so much lately. I had tenants who moved out after 5 years. They left me a real mess. They did not clean the whole 5 years they were here.

The apartment was pristine when they moved in everything new. Now it I all ruined. There is even a hole in the bathroom floor that is rotted out to the basement. The kitchen and pantry was coved in grease and the white stove was black to name a few things I have been dealing with.
It took me 4 days to scrub the stove and I had to replace all the burners and drip pans.
The blinds had to be scrubbed they were black with dust and I had to replace over half of them that were broken.
The bathroom was full of mold that had to be scrubbed... The rugs are filthy it is terrible...the beige floor is dark brown... broken windows too.
We have spent two weeks scrubbing and we are not done. Then we move on to repairing the damage.
Then they expect their deposit back??saying it is normal wear and tear?. I don't think so.
Looks like this will end up in court. Makes you not want to rent again.
So that is why I have no been able to keep up on birthdays at cute ....
Also I have 34 cats and kittens right now I am caring for
We run the rescue for cats here. Wow just hearing myself explain this makes me tired.
Hugs to all! happy birthday's to all I have missed too. We are plowing through this one day at a time.

Suzanne, sorry to hear of your troubles with the bad tenants.
My DH and I are untidy tenants, but the place is always spotless when we move out. And the landlord is always welcome to come and visit with us any time.
We helped a neighbour once who had tenants who attacked the walls with an axe. He had to rebuild some of the walls, it was so bad. Lucky the roof didn't fall in.

It is a real shame some people do not have any pride in how they live and can't be bothered to look after other peoples property. I'm sure there are homeless people out there who would give their right arm to live in a nice place. Good luck with the court case if it goes that far. As grandmamek says take photos before any future renting to safe guard yourself..

Dear Suzanne, I do hope you have pictures of before and after, just in case they query you. I'm so sorry that those tenants left you with such a clean up. Good luck with it all, love Chris

Renters are the bane of good landlords. I don't know how they can do the damage that they do and expect anything to be returned via a deposit for them. Good luck on taking them to small claims court.

I hope you have photos to document and you should no have trouble in court. I have lived 20 yrs next door to a rental home and you would not believe all the crazy tenants there. She finally sold it and now I have a young couple that yard work is beneath them. What can I say. Kay

Suzanne, so sorry to hear of this. It is just unbelievable how some people can be such pigs and live in filth. I hope you took photos of the damage and if it goes to court they should be held liable for the damages. If you do decide to rent again be sure and take before photos of the apartment before your tenants move in. Hopefully you will get really good people in there and will have no further problems. It sounds as though you could really use a good relaxing vacation. Be sure and get some rest and treat yourself to something special. You certainly deserve it after what you have been going through. Hugs, Mary

I will keep encouraging you and crying with you and have my ear and shoulder ready at a moments notice. I know how pristine you keep you property and it makes me sick to see how you have been treated. And you have every right to be tired. But enjoy those cats and kittens. Even though you have so many right now, they all love seeing you come through the door and are ready with Kitty Kisses for you.

Suzanne that is dreadful! I am sorry that you are having to deal with all of this...thank goodness for the deposit although I am sure it barely covers & does not cover the work involved. Here we make surprise visits to make sure all is going well. ~hugs ~

I can so feel your pain. We used to own an 8 apt. Complex and I spent every weekend cleaning up someone's mess. I can't even write about some of the things I dealt with. YUCK!

Sorry you have had to deal with such a mess. I would for your future tenants, do a yearly inspection of the rental, this way you can keep on top of how things are.
