What do you do if you have a bare wall left in the house? Make a design wall of course. My daughter Kristy and I came up with this out of desperation in where to view layouts of my quilts, seeing I can't get on the floor (if I ever want to get up again) lol. We used some firm foam that my SIL brought home from work glued the pieces together using Craft glue and covered it with wadding. It was mounted onto the wall using 3M Velcro picture hanging hooks so it can be removed easily if need be. As a spinoff my grandkids love to use it using fabric shapes to make designs no pins needed they just stick to the wall. ps it holds a King Size quilt

I thought all quilters used them??
But then I am not a quilter. At least all my quilting friends have a design wall.
Shapes for the grandkids would be a great idea for when they come around, so long as you do not have anything on there at the time.

I can see them creating many flannel board stories to play with when they are there with you, or maybe you will be helping to teach them how to sew the designs out on felt so they can create their own story boards for home or for projects they make for school. Between you and the kids that will be the most popular wall in the whole house! Love it! Pam

thanks Pam.. I was going to take it down at Christmas but with all 10 here maybe I should just cut out a lot more shapes and see what they come up with..

How lucky you are to have a design wall that big. Mine is only 50 by 50 inches. You will get great use from that wall.
