Hi there all! Look at what I made today for myself :) a cap hoop!

Inspired by the way some other cuties made a cap hoop I too took up the task of making one for myself! But guess what I used to cut it....a swiss knife. ..lol! I know there must have been a better way for me to do it but I didnt have any patience and was in a hurry to just get it done! It did take some effort and time but thankfully fits perfectly!
Tested it out as well with a little quick stitch out on my daughter's cap :)
Thanks for looking and thanks to the cuties for sharing the idea :)
P.s: my cutout is 5.5×5.5 inches and I didn't use any sticky stabilizer!

Thank you for the photo of the hat on the clip board I did wonder when I saw the clipboard before why the clip was left on the board, Now you have answered my question. Great idea who ever came up with the idea.

Well I knew those little knifes were very durable. Maybe you should write the company and tell how they came to the rescue once again.

Yes you are right this little tool did a great job! It had helped me a lot years back for another craft project where I had cut lots of wooden skewers to make a wall clock :)
Thank you so much

Great job. I haven't seem this before. I must have missed the other cuties that had made them. Keep up the good work. I could have used this idea a few years ago, I had to do a couple of caps for my cuz. it was a pain....just used my reg. hoop and like to never got it done. Think goodness it was a very soft hat and was able to just pin it down to my stabilizer.
keep up the good work.

Thank you so much :). ...this was my first time I tried a cap so cant really compare doing it with a regular hoop vs this one....but I can just assume this is worth making!

Yes sure...go ahead and make one :) I am sure your DH wont mind...it will be pretty easy to cut if you have a proper tool to work with like a saw! You can help by just precisely marking it for him...good luck! Thanks a lot!

Go ahead give it a try....be patient and it will work out! It is very simple to do....good luck!

queenofhearts by queenofhearts 14 Jun 2015

Now it just occured to me that not only do I not have a saw, I don't have a swiss knife either. And a search through my junk drawer did not yield any suitable substitute, so once again the idea goes on the back burner.

tfk by tfk 14 Jun 2015

Any cutter should work...the kind which has an extendable blade used for crafts! Yesterday I couldn't find mine so ended up using this...I also had an exacto cutter for an option but I think that would be too delicate! Well you just look around and I am sure you will find something :)

Love your idea can you show more of how does it sew.I see how to cut it but how does it stay still to sew out???Or does it just fit tight in your hoop??hugs

tfk by tfk 14 Jun 2015

Yes Carolyn it fits inside the hoop just like the inner portion of the frame fits! We can even tighten further with the screw of the hoop! Mostly people use sticky stabilizer with this to stick the cap on it but I simply used tear away! The clipboard attachment can be fixed in either direction....I mean upwards or downwards! The actual design is stitched out in the cutout area which can be made according to the size of hoop you are using! Thank you :)

Thank-you for explaining i will half to look for a clip board hugs

you are a star! the cost of the hoop here is well over $300 so compared to a clip board .......well no comparison @ all!
