7 yr old Caleb came in wanting me to put all 3 of his initials on his new shirt. Well I did, never really thought of what they spelled 'till I looked at it after it was done. LOL He was proud so I never said a word. Parents really need to take into consideration what a monogram says when they are picking out names. From now on I'll just do CSU when he asks for something like this. Letters and frame came from Apex

agree on the 'words' that one's initials make as I was bullied by at primary school. However your work is lovely and the 'word' is not all that apparent. well done to you.

Lovely, Lilian. You are right. I always wondered why on earth my parents named the eldest of my (younger) brothers WC. Of course a monogram could be wRc but it usually was WCR. So I made sure my children would not be teased. Then we moved to England and my daughter saw a nice necktie with a pink pig and her initials on it. Being five she did not realise what MCP stood for, but I did.

I'm way older than 5, but I don't know what MCP is meant to stand for :)

lol Lillian, did you see Mason's pillow cover MSS? All he needs is a tiny e for a big mess on his bed. His shirt turned out well. I'm still uncomfortable stitching on tees. First two puckered. Last one came out well but I used cut-a-way. Never tried any more.

Thank you Toogie. I sometimes use An iron on stabilizer for tees but on this(he was in a hurry)I used a med. weight cut away and it came out just as well/Lillian

LOL! I have a Caleb too. His initials are CJT. I know exactly what you mean about parents jotting down and realizing what wrath a child's initials may bring on. I had entertained a female name of Rebecca Anne but because our last name begins with a "T" she would have been called, "RAT". Changed Anne to Grace. But ended up having a boy and so CJT works great! You did a great job with the embroidery!

Well, I think it looks very regal in the frame you used. At the age of 7 I hope he doesn't notice what it spells. Nicely done on the shirt.

Totally agree. Great care should be taken in giving names. My mom was PAT or in monogram PTA. But she gave me EAT for initials. Aargh! Thought I took care of this in naming my kids, but one child is "proud" to have the same initials as Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.

That is funny! I was just telling a friend the other da how when my girls were little they would sing the commercials they soul here on radio and TV. One of them had a fave and it was the Pabst Blue Ribbon all the way through. She couldn't have been m ore than 5 , but I never knew when or where that was going to come out to the top of her lungs...There I was the church organist, girls sitting on front pew near organ so I could keep an eye on them and out it came.. People laughed till they cried as my oldest who was around 13 was trying to get her to Shussh.

Well it isn't too bad of a word - but you are correct - parents do need to consider names and initials and monograms!! I would like to say - I love the design and monogram - looks so professional - but, then again, you are a professional!! Hugs to you and yours!! Laura*
