Some happy news...my grandson Dillon is graduating on the 9th of June. I can't attend because the family is in Montana and I am in California and my budget and car say I won't be going. But, I am excited just the same. He is graduating with honors. But, that is not what is bringing tears to my eyes at this moment...we lost him for 8 minutes when he was ll months old. He was hospitalized for a month and had several surgeries after swallowing a tack and it was several weeks (even was hospitalized) before finding out what was wrong. I remember to this day visiting him in the hospital and going straight to the hospital chapel to pray for better medical care for him. Something in his pleading eyes didn't look right to me. He didn't come out of the ordeal without problems. His vision in one eye is really bad..my daughter said something about due to the infection his eye was 'blown' and his balance is off some so he prefers to skate board (which I got him into when I bought him his first skate board in 2009 when we went to visit in Montana. Before they moved to Montana I saw he wasn't able to balance well on a bike so I figured 'why not' try a skate board as it was closer to the ground. I found the best one I could afford and surprised him with it. He can go for blocks and blocks on a skate board now...and other kids trying to keep up with him but falling down. He needed something boyish for fun and so glad I figured out what. That is my miracle grandson. And I couldn't be prouder.

How sad that you are not able to attend his graduation in person. But, you are attending it in your heart. I missed my son's fiance's graduation but was able to watch a live stream. Maybe that will be available to you. Most colleges and universities have live stream. You will cry in the comfort of your own home for the beautiful child that has succeeded beyond measure. I love your story about the skateboard! We must all look for different ways to encourage our kids. Your grandson is a miracle. I am sorry that you can not attend in person his graduation but please check out live stream. I did this for my son's fiance and was able to take a screen shot too! You really do see them better online. Blessings.

There's always greyhound buses to get there. Congratulations, I know that you are proud beyond belief and rightly so! I'm gonna pray for your trip.

I thought of the bus but there are complications should I go alone. If I leave my dogs at home...my housemate doesn't take them out and even though with a doggie door they want someone to watch them. I was in the hospital for 5 days and only had one dog at the time...the day I got home I had to steam clean the carpet.

Yikes. I hope someone comes along and offers you help and a perfect solution.

We figured things out and with a little help from my daughter things look promising. Not sure if this is one of the places where things go 'public' when posted but I hope not. I had new tires put on my car yesterday. Hopefully with the heat we are having now I can get the a/c serviced today. God willing. I can't go if not serviced as the heat gets to many of us as we get a wee bit older. I don't drive my car much and didn't realize just how bad the a/c needed freon. Only about 500 miles last year. lol. If I can get the lead out of my housemates fanny to secure the house today as we have been doing some work on it, then it should be all systems go after I contact the alarm company to just dispatch the Sheriff should the alarm go off.

I hope you can go, however if it does not go that way, I just know you will be involved and he knows how proud of him you are. God Bless and safe travels!
