Yum! My tree is not doing well. We diverted the water and only have a few limbs surviving. Your cherries look yummy.

I have two sour cherry trees that I planted when my twin grandgirls were born. (now 21 !!) But the birds seem to be faster than I am now days. They get most of the cherries. But there is nothing like a REAL cherry pie when I manage to get enough cherries to make one. Do you have to net your trees?...that is a huge job !

No, we just pick fast! Lol. Last evening and this a.m. We picked another 1.5 gals and gave to a friend for jelly. She called tonite to say she'd made a cobbler, and now was freezing for pies instead of jelly.

Brings back memories. We had a big sour cherry tree when I was a girl. My brother's and I had to pick them, but poor Mom did most of the work after that. I remember they weren't too tempting to young palates right off the tree, but we loved to steal them from the freezer and pop them in our mouths. One year Mom cooked the jam just a bit too long and made the best cherry taffy. There was no way you could spread it on a slice of bread, but we loved eating it off the spoon. Thanks for the memories. Enjoy your bounty!

Just in case you get tired conserving, eating, freezing those delicious
cherries I'd suggest you could share them with your Cute family here.
After all the embroidery design sharing it would be great to share some
goodies :-)
Just making fun :-) Maria
I admire the big lot of work

We had a friend come through our area once, who lived on the washington border, he brought us fresh bing cherries he picked, the best cherries I ever had. We all eat them till they were gone. Still remember after 30 years! These look delish!

The Washington/Oregon border? We once drove thru a Bing cherry orchard on a vacation drive down the Oregon coast...started in Seattle. Amazing orchard, and vendors along side of road selling for $1.00 per basket--all the way back to Seatac airport. We brought cherries back on the plane for friends.

So pretty I just had to make a pix. Might be a 'barren' tree next year. The birds and I fought over these ...we both won a bit.

I love Bing Cherries! my Mom used to make a bing cherry salad with dark cherry jello, can of bing cherries, coke, cream cheese and crushed pineapple. It was so good! Kay

These look delicious. You have done a lot of work picking these, and more work ahead to put them up. We used to have 2 sour cherry trees in our back yard, but lost both of them to storms/high winds over the years. You are lucky - yours are producing a big harvest.

Yes, I even climb some of the limbs to reach the juiciest.

I love cherries! I think your bumper crop is wonderful. Will you be freezing and/or canning a lot of your crop?
