A question about the border is that a pattern in the material or did you do a line of stitching on top once you put the binding on?

It is a digitized 8 mm. wide border with variegated thread.
The top single line of stitching is just for finishing.
Everything is done at once in the hoop.

Just a question about the border - Is that an extra line of stitching done on top of the material after sewing the border on or just a pattern on the material?
